Nurse Call Plus is part of Security Specialists, a locally owned security company that’s been operating since 1989. Over the years, we’ve designed, installed, and maintained security systems for a wide range of complex projects, including work in the healthcare sector, for example Southland and Middlemore hospitals and more recently the Acute Services Building at Christchurch Hospital.
By creating Nurse Call Plus, we’ve focused our expertise on supporting aged care and health facilities with proven security knowledge and carefully selected specialist products, like Advance Care’s nurse call solution.
With offices in Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin, along with strong partnerships across both islands, we’re well positioned to help facilities anywhere in New Zealand.
We’re proud to exclusively offer Advance Care’s nurse call technology. Founded in 2000, Advance Care is an Australian company recognised as a leader in nurse call communication systems in Australia and internationally. They design and support the technology, while we bring it to you and support through local service and expertise.
Since launch we have been working with clients across the country, and seeing the impact it has. Advance Care systems are in place in the likes of Heritage Lifecare, Franklin Day Surgery (where we also provide CCTV, access control, alarms and intercom), hospices, and several independent aged care facilities.

Greg Angell is the Managing Director of Security Specialists, the company behind Nurse Call Plus.
With over 35 years in the security industry, Greg has built Security Specialists into one of New Zealand’s leading providers of integrated security solutions, trusted by commercial, government, and healthcare clients alike. Under his leadership, the team has delivered complex projects across the country, combining expertise in electronic.
As Greg says, "Working with hospitals and aged care facilities over the years, we saw first-hand the need for a better, more reliable nurse call option. For us, branching out into nurse call was a natural step, it builds on our security expertise and lets us support our customers in a way that really makes a difference."
